MEET Debbie

Meet Debbie Debbie Rosenblatt has worked at Jewish Vocational Service (JVS) for 21 years.  What she likes most about working there is having friends and making money.

Keith Hammond, JVS Program Manager, said, "Debbie works expertly. No one has more friends, cares more or wants to help others more."

Debbie, who lives in Blue Ash with several roommates, enjoys the computer, especially emailing her family, and watching Wheel of Fortune and Jeopardy on television.

One of Debbie's other hobbies is advocacy. She attends two meetings of Leaders in Action (LIA) a month, and is a member of subcommittee People Aren't Jars, which educates about not labeling others.

"I try to take leadership roles," said Debbie.

She is so loved by LIA that the group recently celebrated her birthday during a meeting, including a cake and performance of the birthday song.

John Romer, Advocacy Coordinator, said, "Debbie is one of the most loyal and consistent advocates, and I know she is excited about the state of Ohio removing the 'MR words' from agency names."

Speaking that, she is also involved in advocacy with ARC of Hamilton County, and recently went to Columbus with the group for a leadership seminar and to meet with politicians to discuss that issue.

"I'm really glad that they're removing 'MR'!" said Debbie.
