Luke Milner has worked at the Kroger in Harrison for several years, for three days a week. Last year, he was the first and only employee since to receive an Employee of the Month award. He got a Kroger hat and a special poster for this achievement.

"I like Kroger. It’s fun to work there," said Luke, "I like taking lunch breaks with my friends."

Luke and his family moved here a few years ago from Valparaiso, Indiana, where Luke graduated from high school and worked at the Big Wheel restaurant.

In addition to working at Kroger, Luke volunteers at his church, Miami Whitewater United Methodist, each week on its Banquet and Special Events ministry team.

He sets up tables for the weekly dinner, and for other special events.

"I go to church every Sunday and wanted to be part of a ministry," said Luke.

A big fan of the weather, Luke visited Channel 9 and met meteorologist Steve Raleigh and other newscasters. His pictures of the weather have been featured on the newscast as well.

Like other young adults, Luke loves surfing the internet, particularly YouTube and movie clips. He also loves action and zombie movies, and 80's music.

Gary Boggs, Luke's Service Facilitator said, "I enjoy working with Luke and his family. Luke has a good attitude and his family is very supportive."
