Mathew is 21 and attends Margaret B. Rost School. He recently was invited by Green Township to deliver the Pledge of Allegiance at their Bicentennial Anniversary celebration ceremony.
According to Mathew's instructor, Lisa Grady, he recited the pledge flawlessly, and even became a bit of a celebrity.
"I enjoyed saying the pledge," said Mathew, "It was fun meeting new people and I liked being a part of it."
Watching the weather is one of Mathew's favorite hobbies. He can tell you what the weather will be like for several days. He also likes to listen to the Warm 98 radio station and call in requests to the Delilah show.
Mathew volunteers at Mercy Hospital Fairfield twice a week stocking shelves and learning job skills. He's graduating soon and would like to get a job there.
