School Based Consultation

Itinerant Supports

Itinerant supports are services provided by the agency that happen within a child’s community school. The team will collaborate with the school to help support children with moderate to intense needs in the classroom.

Some of the services provided are therapy, behavior consultative supports, training, general classroom support, curriculum adaptations and more.

In order for a child to take part in these services, a referral needs to be made, and both parents and the school need to give permission. A meeting will be scheduled, and if the child qualifies, services can begin.

Around ages 14 to 16, the team will start discussing the future with the individual and his or her family and team. Planning will continue until the child graduates. Planning ahead will lead to a more secure future.

There are many vocational and non-vocational options available. The team will the student make decisions about what they want and what is best for them.
